Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone! I love this time of year, making new resolutions and getting a fresh start! One of my resolutions this year is to complete 52 projects in 52 weeks and I'll be updating my projects on my blog! Week 1 Project is a special knitted item for my mom. Her birthday is coming up this month and I am in the process of dyeing the yarn for her special item. I am also wrapping up a couple of 2009 projects, brown bear longies for baby Tennyson, Mosaic Moon Goblin longies for a friend's new baby (shhhh these are a surprise, don't tell!) and Hannah's ridinghood sweater that has been on the needles for at least a month.

My most recent finished object!

A newborn hudson hat in my 'retro hearts' colorway

Also, a few stocking announcements. I have a yymn slot and a nb mymn slot available at The Custom Rack: http://hyenacart.com/thecustomrack/

and I will be stocking a semi custom slot along with a few yarn auctions on Monday, January 4th at http://hyenacart.com/alligatorknits/

Updates

Well, I haven't been very good about keeping up with my blog, so I am going to try to be better about updating it. I'll be keeping a list of those who I have down for customs and you'll be able to see approximately when I'll be getting to you. I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas! I hope to post again tomorrow when I have finished object pictures to show!

Rain Rain Go Away...

It is very rainy outside today, so these pictures aren't the greatest.

Here are Racheal's Munki Munki Cheese Toast Longies inspired by the following fabric

I hope you love them! Tonight I'll be working mostly on Diane's Black Cherry Longies. I finally got some trim that actually matches in stock so I'll be finishing the legs/cuffs and going in to add in the waistband. I'm hoping to be able to ship these out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks for your patience on this!

Also I have started co-oping my hand dyed yarns and I am loving it. If you'd like to get in on the coops and are a member of these groups I have started a list on the right of my blog. If you are a member of a group that you'd like to have co-op from me have the moderator email me at amyltc@yahoo.com.

Updates

I wanted to update everyone as to the status of customs since it has been a while since I haven't updated lately. All yarn dyeing customs are finished and shipped!

Other customs are or will be updated by the end of today. Thanks!

My New Favorite

These are a pair of custom longies for an awesome and very patient customer on etsy.
They are knit in my 'Little Miss Hippopotamus' colorway. I hope she loves them!

I have a new favorite, I love this poncho, not to toot my own horn but I think it turned out darling. I HAVE to make one of these for my own girls. OK, and the pictures are sideways. Not sure how to fix that right now, but I will be back tomorrow with a longer post and hopefully better pics.

Let the countdown begin!

Ahh the Christmas season is here! And it is going by way too fast! I can't believe we only have 2 weeks until Christmas and I am far from ready. The cold weather is here and we are supposed to get a huge snowstorm this weekend. Perfect because I am going to spend it knitting away! Here are a couple of finished projects. First longies in 'Savanna Life' dyed by me to match a goodmama in the Savanna Life print.

Also some yarn I did that was a whoops. I dyed up a second skein for a customer in my jungle rainbow colorway, but it turned out lighter, and voila, a new colorway. I am going to call it spring rainbow.

And finally a hudson hat I finished that is on its way to a new home tomorrow!

Happy December!

I can't believe it is December here, it was 60 degrees today, that is unheard of in Utah. I am grateful though because it means much faster drying time for my yarn! We got our new stove last week and I am finally getting caught up, if only my cestari order would get here... hopefully tomorrow.

I think I am going to close down to dyeing customs until January just so I can get a jump on my knitting customs. I've been working hard on Rachel's Savanna Life longies and they've been giving me quite a headache. The body turned out beautifully but the legs were pooling terribly so I frogged them 3 times and finally they are turning out nicely. I am almost to the cuff on the second leg and will take them to work with me tomorrow to finish during lunch. I enjoy seeing the reaction of those I work with, they just can't quite grasp the concept of longies, but I think I am winning them over.

I know I still have a lot of you out there waiting for me to finish your orders, I am working feverishly and hope to have most items out to you before Christmas so I can spend Christmas break knitting for my own kiddos.
